The Bridge
God has shown us mercy and grace through the Lord Jesus Christ, and we want to share that same mercy and grace with our community. Many people in Hot Springs and Garland County are trapped in poverty, substandard housing, broken families, are jobless and uneducated. They are physically and spiritually enslaved to drugs, pornography, prostitution, gambling, alcohol, “folk religion” and abusive relationships. Their lives are broken in relationship to God, their families, and their neighbors. God has commanded us to “Go!” into our community and be his hands and heart to heal these broken lives, with both our acts of service and our words of love. Lake Valley Community Church will make a difference in this community by being the salt that people can “taste and see that the Lord is good,” and by bringing the healing light of Christ into the dark brokenness of people’s hearts.
The Bridge ministry is the connector between Lake Valley folks and organizations in our community who are already serving people who are broken and less fortunate. Our Community Liaison, Paula Schwartzmann, helps keep us apprised of needs in the community, helps connect volunteers to organizations where they can serve, assists in equipping members, and helps facilitate partnerships with other churches on service projects. The Bridge newsletter is published monthly to communicate serving opportunities to our members.
