Jr. High Ministry
The Tribe is for 6th-7th grades. The Tribe meeting is every Wednesday at Lake Valley. There will be a meal provided and the senior high and junior high eat together before having separate evenings planned for them. Becca Helton is leading this ministry event. We are using a curriculum called LIVE that is developed specifically for this age group. Each lesson is scripture based and included an email to the parents with the scripture and questions to continue the conversation at home.
CONNECT - is our Learning Center experience open to any student 7th-12th grade. This hour long block of time from 9am-10am on Sunday morning is based around learning and knowing the stories of the bible. The second objective is for students to get to know each other. The older students have responsibilities each week to connect and lead the younger students.
Sr. High Ministry
ASCENT - Ascent is for students 8th-12th grade and meets every Wednesday from 6PM-8PM at Lake Valley Community Church. This is a dynamic evening that will focus on discipleship, and leadership. We have student led worship experiences, large group experiences, and small group experiences. Our ministry philosophy is that students are just as capable of using their gifting as adults. We also believe that they need the wisdom of solid adult mentors. We want to come alongside each student to push them, encourage them, and help them grow in their walk with Christ. We desire that students leave our ministry with three understandings: God, Self and Community. This is expressed in our acronym L.E.D. Love God, Examine Self, Desire Community.
I am very excited about the opportunities the students have this year. We are blessed to have student worship teams as well as high school students who are ministry interns this year.
