Teaching Pastor

Born and raised in Arkansas, Dru is one of the 13 original families that started Lake Valley.  Dru loves his family, which consists of his wife Jo, his daughters, Susannah (and Jeff Rodgers, with kids Jolie, Hayden and Bella) Elizabeth (and Clint Williams) and son, Ben Dodson. You may find him at home, out eating with friends, on the boat enjoying one of Hot Springs many lakes, in the woods, or traveling to some new place with Jo.  Dru and Jo also own and operate a small cafe and shop called Zoe’s.  Dru’s hobbies include playing the guitar, gun collecting and trading, shooting skeet and playing chess.  Dru has the natural gift of teaching.

Why do you do what you do? I love Christ, His Kingdom, His church and His gospel.

Education: University of Arkansas, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Master of Arts in Christian Thought, Master of Divinity; Gordon-Conwell Seminary, Candidate for Doctorate of Ministry in Church based Theological Education  

What’s currently on your iPod? “What’s an iPod?” ... I like acoustic “American” music; swing (not jazz); outlaw country, and southern rock. I do not listen to Christian music. 

What book are you currently reading? There are always several.  Most recently  Deep Survival, The Politics of Jesus, Justification, The Mask of Command, and 19 Stars.

Favorite Restaurant? It depends on my mood but I like Angels, Central Park Fusion, Jasons, and McClards.
