Paula Schwartzmann’s Bio

Community Liaison

Paula has a heart for the underdog, the outcast, the person that does not fit in. She says that her parent’s welcomed lots of “strays” into their home and she thinks it rubbed off on her. She also works for the Garland County Jail Ministry. She loves talking and praying with the ladies in the jail. Paula and her husband, Chuck, and their dog, Brownie, live in Hot Springs and are pastors to one of Lake Valley’s home groups. Paula has one son, Eric, a daughter-n-law, Brenda and a grand daughter, Bella. When she is not busy with one of her many jobs or volunteer activities, you may find Paula gardening, biking, baking, canning, or collecting insects.

What is your favorite thing about being “on staff” at LVCC? I love the fact that we have so much fun together.  We can really speak honestly and openly with each other about ideas and issues.  That doesn’t happen very often in this world.

Starbucks Order? I don’t go there much because their coffee is so strong even their decaf keeps me talking for hours.  I usually get a decaf misto (half coffee, half steamed milk).

What’s currently on your iPod? Lots of older Christian music and sermons by Allister Begg.

What book are you currently reading? I just finished reading The Robe by Lloyd Douglas.  If you’ve seen the movie, you’ve got to read the book.  Douglas paints some word pictures of Jesus that are outstanding, and he recreates excellently what it must have been like to live in the days of the first church.

Favorite Restaurant? O.K., it’s not in Hot Springs, but when we go up north, our favorite place is Culver’s.  It has the BEST frozen custard in the world (and I’ve been around).
